The Battle of Maldon as seen at the Battle of Hastings re-enactment for English Heritage. A forty five minute entertainment that tells the story of the battle fought at Maldon in 991 AD with the aid of an embroidery in the style of the Bayeux Tapestry. A children’s show with lashings of blood, guts and gore; including a child size suit of chain mail, helmet, swords, shields and spears. Suitable for schools, history fairs and fetes. After the show there is a photo opportunity to dress your daughter or son as a Saxon Thegn.
For those interested in the Saxon period I can provide them with demonstrations of several aspects of Saxon everyday life. For the peace loving: Cooking, Weaving, Embroidery, Story Telling and Crafts. For the less peaceful: Chainmail making, Bows and Arrows, Blood Guts and Gore.
